Birth of Randy Rhoads Concorde

On Dec 23, 1980, Randy found Grover and showed him a new designed guitar sketch, which was designed completely by Randy himself. The design was based on the formerly made polka dot V. The first Randy Rhoads Concorde was a little bigger, as Randy was relatively short, so it was then modified and shrunk a bit. Due to its futuristic shape, the guitar was titled as Concorde.Besides, the guitar was once named the most representative electric guitar in history.

Randy Rhoads Concorde

Randy Rhoads Concorde Neck Joint

The structure of this Randy Rhoads Concorde guitar is neck through body, which ensures the stability, consistency, strength and tonal power of this guitar. Our Concorde Guitar is built with the neck-thru construction, however, most of other replicas are set-in construction, because the neck-thru body wood costs high and the process is time-consuming. Please note: the original is neck-thru construction.

Randy Rhoads Concorde Wood Selection

According to our research, no matter Randy’s original guitar or later replicas, the wood is the same, maple neck and ebony fretboard. We just use the same wood, selecting top quality wood, just the same as what used on the original Randy Rhoads Concorde guitar.

Randy Rhoads Concorde Tremolo System

The tremolo system expands your means of musical expression without fear of going out of tune. Since Randy's first Randy Rhoads Concorde guitar is a Gibson Les Paul, he kept most parameters, such as the neck thickness, chord length and nut width, on the Concorde guitar, while the bridge adopted a Fender styled tremolo system, so the Randy Rhoads Concorde is a combination of Fender playing mode and Gibson tone. Polka Dot V adopted the same design. That's the effect Randy wanted. And our products also adopt the same Fender styled tremolo system.

Randy Rhoads Concorde Pickups

It's unable to reveal the original pickups that were used on the Randy Rhoads Concorde prototype due to the long time, but in the 30th anniversary, they produced a limited edition of this Randy Rhoads Concorde guitar which adopted a Seymour Duncan SH4 humbucker in bridge and a Seymour Duncan Jazz SH-2n humbucker in neck. While in our products, except the Seymour Duncan pickups, we also offer Wilkinson pickups for customers to have more economical pickups options which can save you much money!

What we do about the Randy Rhoads Concorde

Against above mentioned features we repeatedly studied and replicated the original Randy Rhoads Concorde guitar as best as we can, mounted on fender style tremolo and Gibson style neck! The wood selection is just the same as the original guitar, maple body, maple neck, ebony fretboard (all with top wood). All are the same as the original guitar, so there is no difference between ours and the original Randy Rhoads Concorde guitar!! But we offer more choices on pickups selection, except the original Seymour Duncan pickups which we sourced for your requirements, Wilkinson pickups is what we strongly recommended because of its high quality and affordable price. It can save you much money!! The Wilkinson pickups with the same specs as Seymour Duncan pickups are much cheaper than the latter!! And the quality of Wilkinson is stable and reliable enough!!
