Merle Haggard Tele History

Merle Haggard Tele, a Fender custom artist series guitar, was first launched in 1997. Made in U.S, the guitar was created to commemorate a great country musician - Merle Haggard. Merle Haggard is the most famous American country musician in 1960s, he is not only a musician and singer, but a famous violinist. He got various talents which made him famous all over the world. He recorded a total of over six hundred songs, of which 250 were his own works. He had 38 champions song, his "Today I Started Loving You Again" had been covered by four hundred singers. Merle Haggard used three different names since it was introduced, but they meant the same essentially. The Thinline adhesion of the body and neck, rather than bolt-on structure, is its unique characteristics.

Merle Haggard Tele Features

Merle Haggard Telecaster is composed of two alder boards, maple top was all over the body. There are sound chambers on the alder board, which is just the same as other thinline body, and the only difference is that there is no "f" hole. The surface of the Merle Haggard Telecaster guitar is a layer of gorgeous maple top, the back center of the guitar is also maple top, but the wings were painted black alder, and the sides were also painted black. The maple top used 2- tone sunburst color, covered with a layer of polyurethane ester outside. The bridge is gold, just like the US series telecasters, matching with the color of other accessories. There are 6 saddles on the bridge, fully adjustable, letting the strings across the bridge from the back of the Merle Haggard Telecaster guitar, which is a new adjustable bridge. You may have noticed that the shape of the single layer milky pickguard is different from other standard Teles.

Merle Haggard Tele

The Merle Haggard Telecaster neck is a piece of maple, 25.5" effective string length, 22 medium-sized frets, a current C-shaped profile, polyurethane paint, black dot inlays, gold tuners. One of its unique characteristics is that it is neck through structured, which makes it more comfortable to play with. In Fender’s guitars, only few are neck through structured.
