Story About Randy Rhoads Polka Dot V

Randall William "Randy" Rhoads (December 6, 1956 – March 19, 1982) was an American heavy metal guitarist who played with Ozzy Osbourneand Quiet Riot. A devoted student of classical guitar, Rhoads combined his classical music influences with his own heavy metal style. Despite his short career, Rhoads is a major influence on neo-classical metal, is cited as an influence by many guitarists, and is included in several "Greatest Guitarist" lists. Randy Rhoads was only in the rock and roll spotlight briefly before dying in a freak airplane stunt. Yet here we are, 30 years later, still talking about Ozzy Osbourne’s sideman and the impact he had on several generations of rock guitarists. Polks Dot V was one of his favorite guitars.

Some people think Jackson or Charvel crafted the Polka Dot V, but in fact it was produced by Karl Sandoval. Randy ordered the guitar on July 3rd, 1979 from Karl Sandoval. The guitar was completed November 22nd, 1979. Randy Rhoads put in a great deal time to design this electric guitar and he required a guitar that joined together of both Gibson's tone and Fender's play style, therefore the parameters of this specific electric guitar, such as string length and nut width, are based on his LP guitar, particularly the size with the neck. Karl and Randy talked over a long time and finally settled upon the crocodile headstock type, which turned out to be a icon of the Polka Dot V. The dots had been requested to be set in place regularly as opposed to randomly, which could make it look much more 3-dimensional. Those dots had been undoubtedly Polka dot which acquired the name from a certain east European music named Polka.

Our Replicated Karl Sandoval Black Polka Dot V

The original instrument was set-in structured; therefore the instrument was fairly stable, in comparison with the bolt-on style. Our Randy Rhoads Flying V Polka Dot Guitar Replica is the same with the original guitar in a set-in construction.

The inlays are tie inlays, which implies a gentle design. The initial instrument was made of rosewood fretboard, maple neck and mahogany body. And we strictly pick precisely the same woods as the genuine guitar.

All the hardware is chrome finish.
